The following information will help you protect your identity: Aetna - identification cards issued before 2005 have the STRS Ohio member number. Effective Jan. 1, 2005, all newly issued identification cards have a scrambled number. If you have an identification card with your STRS Ohio member number and would like a new card, you may contact Aetna at 1-800-645-5677. Caremark - identification cards include the STRS Ohio member number. STRS Ohio is working with Caremark to develop a process that will enable a scrambled number to be used instead of the member number. Medical Mutual - identification cards currently contain the Social Security number; however, you may call Medical Mutual and request a new card without the number. The card will include a statement indicating that the Social Security number should be used when submitting claims. Medical Mutual is in the process of developing scrambled numbers to be used in the future. Paramount - identification cards currently include the Social Security number. Paramount is in the process of creating a program that will assign new scrambled identification numbers to all enrollees.
